Lurana Shelter Society

Currently, Lurana Shelter Society administers three distinct programs:

  • Operation of a first-stage, emergency shelter providing safe, secure refuge and emergency services such as food, clothing, transportation and child support as well as specialized services related to counseling, advocacy, legal and medical are available by staff or through community partnerships.
  • Child-specific programming to assist vulnerable children and youth as they deal with the abuse they have witnessed and endured.  Highly trained staff provides individual counseling, support groups as well as specialized learning and recreational activities.
  • Adult and Youth Outreach services designed to ensure victims’ safety, assist them in breaking the cycle of violence and provide support and guidance as they begin rebuilding their lives free from violence outside of the shelter environment.
