Alberta Council of Women’s Shelter: Invitation
June 7, 2016
The convergence of current and critical factors – new provincial government, new community services identified for recent immigrant and refugee populations, leadership and staff turnover in our community agencies, and recent grant and funding allocations and service changes to shelters in the GEA (WIN HOUSE, LaSalle, Lurana Shelter, WINGS and A Safe Place)– make ripe the time to convene with you for a day of conversation to:
- renew our working relationships,
- review how recent funding is informing and shaping our services, and
- identify and clarify your questions and issues.
We invite you, with one of your colleagues, to join us on:

A light breakfast will be followed by brief presentations from the Executive Directors of our shelters to bring you up to date. Then, we’ll engage in an innovative process using your questions as the basis of small group conversations for issue clarification and enhanced understanding. (a light lunch will be provided) This process will end at 2:30 pm.
ACWS will engage in a consultation process with stakeholders for their project “ACWS Keeping Women Safe Project” consultations are being held across the province. We appreciate your participation.
