April CIAFV Member’s Meeting

Please join us April 20th as we discuss women who abuse with Kathleen Gorman.

Kathleen has been working in the fields of trauma, grief and loss, mental health and addictions, as well as domestic and sexual violence for over 36 years with Indigenous families and communities, government and non-profit groups. 

She practices within a holistic framework incorporating healing arts and sensorimotor psychotherapy approaches with contemporary modalities and traditional Indigenous ways of healing. She has presented internationally on many topics including trauma-informed practices and impacts of colonization.

Kathleen holds a BSc in Psychology, a Graduate Degree in Health Administration, a Masters in Health Law and a Masters in Social Work, Clinical Social Work Practice.  She is a registered social worker and a certified trauma treatment specialist (CTTS) with the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists. Kathleen is also a sessional instructor for the University of Calgary Social Work Faculty and provides individual/group counselling at Aboriginal Counseling Services Association of Alberta.
