Lunch & Learn: A Woman’s Journey Through Prostitution

December 7, 2015 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm UTC+7

The Sexual Exploitation Working Group invites you to a public talk by Rachel Moran, from Dublin, Ireland. Rachel will speak from her experience, detailed in her book, “Paid For: My Journey Through Prostitution.”
The first 50 people in attendance will receive a complimentary copy of the book, thanks to REACH Edmonton. Bring your own lunch; coffee and tea will be provided.
Rachel Moran’s visit is situated within the “16 Days of Activism to End Gender Violence” which begins November 25, with the International Day to End Violence Against Women, and concludes on December 10, with Human Rights Day.
Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is December 6, marking the Montreal Massacre. The year 2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
This year’s theme is “Orange the World to end Violence Against Women and Girls.”  We encourage you to wear orange at least on one of the 16 days of activism.
