YEG Warm Up: A White Ribbon Tea Party

Edmonton is a city with beautiful public spaces and a resilient, supportive, and engaged community that we want to showcase and rally around! We believe that everyone deserves to feel comfortable, accepted, and safe at all times, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age or race.

So don your most festive hat and finest “high-tea” outfit, and bring your fanciest teacup (or classiest thermos) down to Churchill Square for a night of tea, support, laughs, and conversation on healthy equal relationships!

White scarves will be provided to show support for the White Ribbon Campaign, raising awareness for ending violence against women and girls.

The White Ribbon Campaign works with men and boys to prevent violence through challenging assumptions about what it means to be a man. White Ribbon works “to end violence against women and girls, promote gender equity, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.” We will be handing out White Ribbons and will have a pledge banner on Saturday.

Limited tea will be provided, and seating may be scarce so feel free to bring your own exotic tea or lawn chair. For those without their own teacups or thermos we will have a small supply of paper cups available. This is a family friendly event, so bring anyone who may be interested, and share this freely!
