The Aboriginal Counselling Services Association of Alberta
What the program is about:
This is a 12 week closed group that assists women of Aboriginal ancestry in understanding what healthy and unhealthy anger is, the roots of anger (intergenerational impacts) and how anger can influence healing and personal growth. Women will also develop tools for coping with anger while exploring their emotions through expressive arts and traditional cultural practices.
Intake appointments for the April – June, 2016 group will take place in February and March 2016. Women interested in attending the program must contact Aboriginal Counseling Services to get an appointment to complete the Healing Anger Program intake process in February or March with one of the program facilitators. This is necessary to be considered for acceptance into the program. There is a limited number of intake appointments available so please call to book as soon as possible.
There will be no intakes for the April-June 2016 program after Friday March 24, 2016 so appointments need to be booked before then. Women calling for an intake appointment after that time will be offered the option to place their name on an intake waitlist for the program starting in September 2016.
Women who have completed an intake will be notified by telephone if they have been accepted or not and only after all intakes are done.
